One of the best gyros I've ever had! Service is always fast and friendly for both takeout and dining. Love this place!

We loved this place. They have authentic Greek food. It's not a 5 star restaurant but for the quality, taste and value it's absolutely fantastic. Great food, nice staff and reasonably priced. We left very happy. So, it actually is 5 stars. Highly recommend.

Really cozy location on South street surrounded by other shops. My girlfriend and I got the vegetables stuffed with chicken and the gyro platter, and everything was fantastic. The food was ready pretty quickly and was piping hot, great flavor at a great price point. Will definitely be back!

A fairly quick in and out place to grab a gyro or shish-kabob. The meat is always well seasoned making this a reliable stop. The dine in area is small but it's separated from the order window making it more appealing. The prices are reasonable and the staff are always kind. If you're walking South st and need a quick bite, this is the spot for you.

Fantastic place. My friend Alison and I came here after an avant-garde shoegaze show at Pageant Soloveev and got the souvlaki.

I only ever get the GYRO. LOVE IT & it's great quality every time. I got a couple other random things that were ok. Stick to the GYRO!

This place is awesome. It has authentic Greek food at a great price point. The service was very quick (the guy seemed like he either owned the restaurant or his family owned the place). He was constantly checking up on us with his adorable Greek accent. We got the Grape Leaves and Baba Ghanoush to start out with. They both were amazing. The Baba Ghanoush was perfect. It was creamy and had chunky tomatoes and some cheese in the mix. The gyro meat was delicious. I really liked how fresh all the ingredients were. The whole wrap was super warm and toasty. The tomatoes and lettuce were crispy as well. The place also has a whole bar in the restaurant if you did want a drink and not just amazing Greek food.

Nice spot open late and has fresh food you can smell from the street before you even walk in. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

I came into South Street Souvlaki hungrier than a 2006 Brian Dawkins, ready to have an absolute feast without hurting the pockets too much. My Chase Sapphire Preferred card is tiiiiirrreeeeddddd these days. I walked in and sat right at the table bordering a window that looked out onto South Street. South street is so different ahaha. FULL of characters on those little spider bikes playing music so loud you can't hear yourself think. Fantastic people watching, head on a swivel tho. There was only one girl working this place, and she was also the bartender so service wasn't the best I can't even lie, but that's no knock on her. She was doing everything she could. They need to get her some help like the Raiders need to get Davante Adams a quarterback. After I was handed a menu I had to double, then triple check the pricing. INFLATION BUSTER ALERT!!!!!! Sandwiches only $8??!?! Combo platters only $14?! I guess $14 might not sound like that big a deal, but NYC prices have really abused me smh. I opted to get the Tzatziki, stuffed grape leaves, and a lamb gyro meat platter. A proper feast for the Croatian Orangutan. AKA, me. While awaiting my royal feast, I ordered a Manhattan and it came in a circular glass. I lowkey chirped this on my IG story essentially saying "what kind of glass is this for a Manhattan?" But, one of my overly-masculine (like what you overcompensating for bro? What you tryna hide?) friends said "that's pretty standard brotha!" A quick google search proved him correct. One of my best traits, if I may say so myself, is I can take constructive criticism with the best of them when presented with proper evidence. However, the 2nd Manhattan came in the normal V-shaped glass, so........ I'll let y'all be the judge. The pita bread with the Tzatziki was perfect. And I mean perfect. Soft on the top, yet a little crisp on the bottom. Real ones know what I'm talmbout. The stuffed grape leaves also smacked. I always get the stuffed grape leaves everywhere I go, they just don't miss. That's a good life hack for y'all. The gyro platter, while getting the job done, did not blow me away. However it was a great portion size and decent quality. For the price, I'm not complaining. Thank you, South Street Souvlaki. Damn, Brian Dawkins really never got a ring!?!?!?! That's a top 5 world tragedy........ IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

My sister & I arrived hungry. Friendly greeting right away. Walked in where there buffer style area. He said it didn't matter which door to come in. Sat quickly, and waiter gave us waters quickly. I was so excited to see Baba Ganush on the menu. It was so good that I could have ordered a bucket of it. Hummus was light and fresh tasting. Falafel was crunchy outside and pillowy inside - could use a touch of salt. My sis ate all her lentil soup & liked it. I got marinated chicken kabobs in a pita with taziki sauce. Bathroom was clean. Murals were so pretty & I loved the Greek music. Nice added touches. This places been here for 43 years. I told my fam where I went & they were excited it's still there that we're all planning to go.
